Documents Required to Import Goods into Mexico
The basic Mexican import document is the "pedimiento de importacion". This document must be accompanied by a commercial invoice, a bill of lading, and documents demonstrating guarantee of payment of additional duties for undervalued goods if applicable. Also the Packing list must always accompany the shipment. The information shown on the packing list must support the description on the commercial invoice. This guaranties strict control, allows for the identification of the complete shipment at any point, and provides a basis for registering complaints with insurance agencies should the merchandise be damaged or missing.

Labeling requirements for beverage alcohol products are outlined in Mexican regulation NOM-142-SSA1-1995.  Labels must include the following information, in Spanish: name/brand name of the product, type of product, net content, country of origin, name/company name and address of the importer, alcohol content, lot number, warning statement, beverages that contain aspartame.

Free Trade Zones
There are two free ports in Mexico: Salina Cruz and Puerto Mexico. Duties and tariffs are deferred until the merchandise is about to enter the local marketplace.

When thinking of using FCL shipping option (20' and 40' containers), you should keep in mind the following advantages:
1) The container volume is all at your disposal;
2) You don't have to have to wait for your order being consolidated with other orders shipped to the same destination;
3) Mind that your goods will stay in the container from the time of loading in the origin port to the time of unloading at the destination.
