Free Trade Zones (Warehouses)

There are no free trade zones in Belgium. But it does have bonded warehouses located near the major port of Antwerp and the national airport north of Brussels. Additionally, with the authorization of the customs authorities a certain company may create a private bonded warehouse and thereby delay or sometimes even avoid payment of customs duties (if the gods are re-exported outside the EU). Private bonded warehouses can be established anywhere in Belgium. These warehouses can be part of a company's production or distribution site. Goods can remain in such warehouses for up to 1 year, with duties and VAT payable only upon sale within Belgium or in cases of re-export to other countries (within the EU).

When thinking of using FCL shipping option (20’ and 40’ containers), you should keep in mind the following advantages:
1) The container volume is all at your disposal;
2) You don’t have to have to wait for your order being consolidated with other orders shipped to the same destination;
3) Mind that your goods will stay in the container from the time of loading in the origin port to the time of unloading at the destination.
